Does it read the full Ge'ez (Fidel) script in PDFs?
Yes. Amharic is written with the Ge'ez syllabary, where each character is a consonant and vowel together. FastOCR reads these characters from scanned and native PDFs. Similar-looking characters can be confused in small print, so proofread names and numbers.
Does it keep Ethiopic punctuation such as ። and ፣?
Yes. The Ethiopic full stop (።) and comma (፣) are kept as written, so sentences stay separated in the extracted text.
Can it read Ethiopian numerals?
Traditional Ethiopic numerals can appear in older documents and should be checked against the original. Arabic numerals, which most modern documents use, are read as normal digits.
