Questions

Is it really free and private?

Yes. It runs in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device and is not sent to FastOCR or anyone else. That costs us nothing, so it is free with no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it. If you choose to make it searchable, we tell you before anything uploads.

Why can’t I search my PDF?

Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages. There is no text to search until OCR adds it.

What does garbled mean?

The page has text, but it is stored wrongly, so search finds nothing and copy gives nonsense. OCR fixes this too.
