Extracting PDF pages copies a chosen selection into one new PDF. FastOCR lets you keep the useful pages from a report, contract or research paper without sending the complete document to its recipient. Select the pages you want in the thumbnail grid and check their order before downloading. Pages do not have to be adjacent, so a cover, a summary and a later appendix can be collected together. The original file stays on your device and is not modified. Because the output copies page content rather than taking screenshots, existing selectable text remains available in the new PDF. A scan still needs OCR if you want to search or copy its words. Extraction is different from splitting into several attachments: choose Split PDF when each section needs its own file. This tool does not edit sentences, remove private details within a page or unlock encrypted PDFs. For sensitive documents, review the pages and document properties before you share the extracted copy.
Questions
How is extracting different from splitting a PDF?
Extract keeps your selected pages together in one new PDF. Split creates separate PDFs for the ranges you specify.
Can I choose pages that are not next to each other?
Yes. Select the individual page thumbnails you want to keep.
Do extracted pages keep selectable text?
Yes, if those pages already contain text. Scanned pages remain scans until OCR is applied separately.
Does the original PDF lose those pages?
No. Extracting makes a new PDF and leaves the source file unchanged.
Can I extract from an encrypted PDF?
Not here. Open an unlocked copy of the document first.
