Make a PDF from iPhone HEIC photos
HEIC is the compact photo format iPhones and iPads use by default, and many sites, printers and older programs refuse it. Converting the photos to a PDF solves that, because a PDF opens everywhere. FastOCR decodes each HEIC picture in a short-lived worker on your device, applies the photo's orientation once and places it on a page, so nothing is uploaded and no app is required. You can mix HEIC with JPG, PNG or WebP photos, reorder pages, rotate sideways ones and sort by the date each photo was taken, which keeps a day of snapshots in sequence. Choose A4, Letter or a page that fits each picture, with an optional margin. Only the main still of each file is used, so the motion in a Live Photo is left out. The PDF holds pictures, not selectable text. Very large photos are checked first so the page stays responsive.
Questions
Are my photos uploaded to make the PDF?
No. The HEIC photos are read and combined in your browser, so they never leave your device and are not sent to FastOCR or anyone else. It is free with no sign-up. A separate paid FastOCR action reads the text in a PDF, and it uploads a file only after you choose it.
Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?
iPhones save photos in HEIC to keep files small. Many websites and programs cannot open that format, but a PDF opens everywhere. This page converts the photos into PDF pages.
Does it work with Live Photos or bursts?
Only the main still picture of each HEIC file becomes a page. The motion part of a Live Photo is not included.
Can I mix HEIC with JPG or PNG photos?
Yes. Drop them together and they go into the same PDF in the order you choose.
Can I search the PDF?
Not at first. The images become pictures in the PDF, so the text in them is not selectable. FastOCR can add searchable text afterwards if you choose it.
