Questions
Is this QBO to Excel converter free and private?
Yes. Reading the bank file and creating the Excel workbook happen in your browser. There is no sign-up. Financial contents and filenames are not uploaded or included in tool analytics.
Is a QBO file the same as QuickBooks Online?
No. A .qbo file is a QuickBooks Web Connect file containing bank or credit-card transactions. This tool reads that file. It does not connect to your QuickBooks Online account or open QuickBooks company backups, QBW files, invoices or journal entries.
What goes into the Excel workbook?
Each bank or credit-card statement gets its own sheet. Columns include account, bank ID, account type, currency, date, signed amount, Name, Memo, transaction ID, transaction type, check number, original posting date and additional fields. The download includes all statements unless you select only the previewed statement.
Will Excel change dates, leading zeros or precise amounts?
Posting dates keep the source calendar day without timezone conversion, and the original posting date is also included. Valid dates and safe amounts use Excel date and numeric cells. Amounts beyond safe Excel precision and invalid values stay as text. Account numbers and transaction IDs stay text so leading zeros are preserved.
Are duplicates, corrections or invalid rows removed?
No. Every transaction is retained. Missing or repeated IDs and invalid dates or amounts are flagged for review. Repeated IDs do not prove duplicate payments. Correction records and additional fields are kept rather than applied automatically. The checks do not reconcile balances or guarantee QuickBooks acceptance.
Can spreadsheet formulas run from a transaction name?
Names, memos, IDs and other text are written as text cells, never formulas. The alternative CSV download protects text that could be interpreted as a formula with an apostrophe. CSV applications may still reformat dates or text IDs; use Excel output when cell types matter.
Which files can I convert?
Choose a QBO, OFX or QFX bank or credit-card export in OFX 1.x SGML or OFX 2.x XML format. Investment and loan statements are not converted. Files can contain up to 10 MB, 50,000 transactions and 100 account statements.
What if I have a PDF or scanned bank statement?
Use the separate FastOCR bank statement converter for PDFs, scans and photos. It extracts transactions into Excel or CSV online, using your free or paid bank-statement page allowance. Dropping a PDF here does not upload it; you must explicitly choose the online converter.
